We are making a start by writing something about the money which is used in Avaren. It's not finished yet, but you can see the start of it below. We will make a shoppinglist for you, so you know how much a coin is worth. If you got more ideas, please comment

Money in Avaren

Avaren doesn't have one type of coins which is used in all the counties. Because the counties were individual kingdoms, they had different coins. After the unification some kingdoms have started to adopt a standard coin, but this not yet introduced in whole Avaren.

==Converting==
Because there are different coins in Avaren the value of the coins is calculated by weighing. The new coin of Avaren is used as a standard. When coins weigh more or less as the standard coin, their value changes to an accurate ratio to the standard. These are mostly used in and around Konigsberg. The four different coins are:

===Gold Coins===
The gold coins are worth most, and are only found among the rich. They are mad from gold and normally have some kind of elegant design, but are rarely seen. They are worth 100 silverlings and weigh 10 gram.

==Silverlings==
The silverlings are made of silver, and are are large sum of money for the normal people, but common among the bourgeoisie. Most people divide them into around 50 coppers, so they can do their daily shopping. They weigh 6.5 gram.

===Coppers===
Coppers are the most seen coin, since they are normally used among the normal people. Some poor people also one or two of these. They are worth 25 dices and weigh 5 gram.

===Dices===
Dices are pocket money to the normal people and more common to the poor. There are no rules concerning the design of these coins, so the normally are just cubes made of nickel (8 gram), hence their nickname. They can not be divided.

What do you guys think, should it be cheaper or more expensive? These are prices for average products. So you could get beer for 5 dices to, but that would be with more water etc.

Alright, money...

First of all I don't think we need it actually cause it is easy to avoid the use of it in the RP

Secondly I smell some extra work, cause I guess it might be necessary that we create also currencies for the counties....

the different coins are clear and okay.

The converting of the coins is according to me not okay at all. You are using the weight of coins too exchange, however it is easy to abuse it. It doesn't represent a thing actually. You better can make a steady-state rate of change for a coin. Depending on purchasing power of that county or something like that. Another option, a little rigorous perhaps, make the so called standard coins obligatory for all counties. Of course some counties wouldn't like it. But you would have less problems with converting and purchasing power and reliability. Look for example to the euro and some of its problems.

And the values: So values of products depend on the location of course, so I assume it are the prices for Koningsberg.

However I have some things, I think that the bow costs too much compared with the sword and that arrows are rather expansive as well. Furthermore would it be useful to add something about how much bread you get, or beer and that kind of stuff. Cause comparing it now is too much guessing.

Going faster than the speed of light isn't possible. That would mean you could go to a place in time. And at that time you wouldn´t be born, but still would be at that place.

The creationteam had already spoken about it and abuse is always possible. Weight is a really good verification, because if you use other metals in the coins, the coins would be larger or smaller. You can feel that. When there is any fraud, this would only be small. We can't make it possible to choose one kind of coin, because of the incoherence of Avaren. The king isn't that mighty.

The prices are indeed standard for konigsberg and in other regions variable by availability. So a pineapple in Icura would be kinda expensive, but if you bought one in Riveko.. it is very cheap.

I like your suggestion of the amounts. Will change that. And don't you think that the sword is to cheap in comparison by the bow instead of the bow is to expensive?
